Tam loving Teehapoo >> Tahiti

Hi everyone,

We have just recieved these amazing pictures taken by legend photographer, Tim Mc Kenna.  Tim captures Tamatoa kiting in probably one of the biggest and most dangerous waves of the planet - Teehapoo.
Tam, a local at Teehapoo loving his latest session with his Edge II. The better images will be appearing in your fave mags soon

Read on for Tam’s words below…

>>who doesn’t know about the famous wave of Tahiti at the end of the road name Teehapoo?
Teahupoo is not a kitesurf wave because it is hidden from the wind most of the year.
statistic shows only 20 days of wind touching the lips of the crazy powerful wave. The best time is june and july and it is also the big south swell rendez vous!
I was waiting for one year for that, couldn’t miss it for nothing.
To drop on the mystic wave of Teehapoo you will need a lot of patience a lot of courage and a really good kite! The wind that day was moderate and allowed me to go on my 9m Edge II and surf board with surf straps on.
I was very glad to have a kite that is so fast and powered that gives me so much control also.
Teahupoo is a very fast wave, really hollow and it breaks in shallow water.
No mistake here or hold your breath for ever!
enjoy the photos of Tim Mc Kenna

Cheers Tam
