I have been kiteboarding now for 5 years and I spend almost all my time on it. After training-sessions in Cabo Verde, Tarifa and Fuerteventura in 2010 and 2011, I went to the Dominican Republic this summer 2012 for 3 weeks to learn new tricks and to have fun! I was in Cabarete in the north of the island, it is a very nice spot with big waves. The NE Passaat blows every day 23 knots. For a good training-session I moved to the river ‘La boca’ to practise my tricks on flat water!
La boca is really nice to practise the tricks with more power and style. Mostly I exercise three tricks a day, especially a perfect landing is very important. The wind comes every day at 12 am till 6-7 pm. The motoconcho (motortaxi) brings me to the spot ‘La boca’ where I pump my Ozone C4 kite and then jump into the water.
It is very important to perfect the tricks for the upcoming competitions. Until now I had some good results in the Netherlands but next year I will compete the whole Kitesurf tour Europe and a couple of Pkra’s in Europe.
Here is the movie I made of my trip to the Dominican Republic!
