Nuria Goma >> 1st Place Spanish Course Racing Championships

Isla Cristina, Huelva is where the Kiteboarding Course Racing Spanish Championships were held. It was a four day event and we got pretty lucky as we had two days of good wind.

Three races where completed on the first day and five on the second one. I used all 3 sizes registered, which shows the different wind conditions we had. I used 9m, 11m and 15m Edge; actually this seems to be my choice for most events.

The average races were longer than World Cup or European Tours races, with choppy conditions on the windiest day. We all were pretty tired after day two, with the 5 races back to back!

There was a big fleet of Ozone riders in the competition. It’s pretty obvious that Ozone kites is one of the main options for racers as half of the beach was covered with Edge kites.

I’m happy with my first place in this contest because it is also important for me to get good results in national competitions as well as in international ones.

So after the event I had to rush back to Barcelona, 14 hours driving, so I could made it to the next PKRA event in Turkey!! This is definitely a non-stop season!!

Greetings,
Núria
