Johnny Heineken >> PKRA Turkey Update

Hi everyone,

here is a quick update from Johnny at the PKRA Turkey. The first 2 days of racing have been very well contested, currently with Ozone riders Johnny in 1st place, Adam Koch tied in 3rd and Nuria Goma 2nd female.

“We’re here at the first ever PKRA event ever held in Turkey, and my first time kiting on the Black Sea. Yesterday we got lucky with some rare 11m conditions due to some weather moving through the area. This quickly kicked up big ocean-like the swell and made the racing really fun. Adam (Ozone, USA), Bryan Lake (USA) and I all had 1 bullet and nearly all top 3 finishes. Today was lighter and the chop had mellowed out significantly. We did two races on big kites, I used my 17m Edge. Usually I’m a big breeze kind of guy so I was stoked to get a 1, 2 for the day. This moved me into first overall.

Tomorrow we head into Istanbul to do an exhibition on the Bosphorus, which is usually banned to all sailing & boating except commercial shipping so it should be pretty cool. Hoping for some wind so we can kite the divide between Europe and Asia! then more racing on the weekend…

Johnny”
