Ariel Corniel PKRA News

Hello everyone,

as you have maybe seen we have been backing Ariel Corniel on the PKRA tour 2010, he has just spent 3 months in Europe making the tour stops and competing hard against the Worlds best freestyle kitesurfers, he is back in his hometown Cabarete, where he got first place in the PKRA stop this year.

Here are some photos and some words from Ariel.

“Hello everybody, its nice to be at home again!

I have been traveling for 3 months around Europe and Africa, it was an unforgettable experience in my life for sure!

I’m super thankful about this opportunity and at the end of this tour with a bit of bad luck I had some crashes in Fuerteventura and Tenerife which was the reason why I couldn’t take too many risks in the way that I ride.

Anyways Morocco was amazing, the windy and gusty days at the end let me finish in 7th position overall, trying also in the waves was lot of fun.

Germany was pretty cool, there I met Frank and Iain who both supported me all the time; changing some things in my kites, getting new boards and also the suits from Mystic to be ready for the cold water!

After that I flew to Fuerteventura where the wind was blowing between 25 and 40 knots, gusty and not comfortable to make big tricks or crazy stuff…

There I had one of my worst crashes in life, getting out of the water with medical assistance and loosing the opportunity to climb to the finals, my knee was hurting a lot but at the end of the main event I finished in 5th position…

After Fuerte Tenerife was ahead in 5 days so I tried to heal my knee faster and focus on the next competition, but again the strong and gusty winds makes my knee worse and worse.

I crashed again in one of my heats and couldn’t keep going to fight for the podium, but in the end I finished in 4th.

I have to say sincerely THANKS to Iain, Matt, Frank, Alex & Jato to make my dreams come true and helping me so much on this PKRA World Tour.

Thanks Ozone and Underground to make me feel like part of your family!

Big hug”

Thanks to you too Ariel, you have been a great ambassador for us and you have grown with every stop into the professional kitesurfer you want to be.

Lets hope for more of the same for the final 3 stops of the tour and for 2011!!

Cheers
The Ozone Team
