FLYING LINE MAINTENANCE

Checking and maintaining your control system flying lines

Over time kite flying lines may stretch slightly, and we highly recommend that you check your Control System lines are set correctly to what we call “bar zero”.

Checking and maintaining your Control System will ensure you get the most performance from your Ozone kite.

When set at correct “bar zero”, all lines should be equal at the ends when the De-power Cleat is set at full power, and the bar sheeted all the way in. To check for “bar zero”, follow these three simple steps;

1. Secure all lines equally at the ends to something firm. Ensure the De-power Cleat is set at full power.

2. Putting even tension through all lines, check if the bar sheets to full power (chickenloop sitting into the bar metal insert or close to it). If this is the case, your bar is set at zero. If not continue to step 3.

3. Slide the foam floats up and adjust the back line leader knots accordingly to allow for closest “bar zero”.

If needed, you can also individually stretch each line by securing to something firm and loading that one line.

Enjoy the ride.

Cheers
Team Ozone
